Year 5 - 5K

Dear Parents/Carers,

                     Welcome to 5K! Your child will be taught by Mrs Khanna(Class Teacher) and Mrs Catchpole (Teaching Assistant).

This year our concept is Success and our central enquiry is: How objective is it possible to be when determining success? We will be teaching the curriculum through this concept, exploring challenging ideas, such as:

·         Can you have success without failure?

·         Does technology always lead to success? 

·         What contributions does resilience make to success?

We are excited to spark debate and help them to develop their own moral compass and explore the concept further.

School day

The school day starts at 8.40am and finishes at 3.10pm. Please be on time arriving and collecting your child from school.

If your child is unwell, please inform the office as soon as possible.

PE

Our PE days are Mondays and Fridays. Please ensure your child has a labelled PE kit for these days and remove earrings.

Uniform and Equipment

Children should wear the school uniform every day and should not be wearing jewellery to school. Please ensure all items of clothing are labelled.

Children should also bring in a named water bottle.

They should not bring any other equipment as everything they need is provided by the school.

Reading

Reading is an essential part of development and so we expect children to read every day as this will help them to succeed and understand the world around them. Children can read independently to you, and you can read to them.
