Learning Support Assistant

Please scroll to the bottom of the page to see pupils' work and what we have been learning.

Welcome to Year 3.  We will be supported by Miss Lawrence and Miss McGinlay.  We have started our new concept of ‘Peace’ this term and will be working on our aims:

  • To listen to and consider the views of others
  • To take responsibility for our own learning
  • To collaborate effectively

Our PE days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  Please ensure your child has the correct labelled clothing in school on these days.

The children are still expected to read every night.  This is so important as this helps their reading, writing and understanding of the world.  Spellings will be set on a Monday to be tested the following Monday.  Maths homework will be set on a Friday and due in the following Thursday.

I expect the children to be more independent now but would still appreciate your support in ensuring they have the correct full uniform, bring a water bottle and the books they need to school each day, and complete their reading and spellings each week.

I look forward to working with you and your children.  If you have any questions, please see me at the beginning of the school day or after school on a Monday or Tuesday.

Thank you,

Miss Rhodes

Pottery

March 2026

The first group has completed their 3 sessions at a professional pottery studio learning how to make and define a coil pot.  They enjoyed learning about the different stages and processes they had to go through to make a finished product: 'This was the best day of my life' Kai.

Art Gallery trip

September 2025

We visited the Sainsbury's Centre for Visual Arts at the UEA as part of our concept learning on Peace. We learnt how to interact politely with the staff there. We toured the exhibitions with a focus on a work of art by Monet on loan from the National Gallery in London.

What is Peace?

We have considered what Peace means to us within each subject area.
