Settling in

All the children have now started nursery and are settling in nicely.  We are all familiarizing ourselves with the new nursery room and outside area and this seems to be working well.

A letter will be sent home shortly with important information about nursery.

Please read all letters thoroughly so you are aware of your child’s learning and what is currently happening in nursery.

Letters sent home.

Please could Parents/Carers read all letters thoroughly as there have been some misunderstandings over things that have been going on in nursery.

We try to keep you as informed as we can about all events through letters and texts.

If you have any queries over any information sent home please speak to one of the nursery staff who will be happy to help.

Please could you check with the office to  make sure all of your contact details are up to date and correct as we have not been able to contact some parents.

The children will be taking part in outdoor activities and will need to wear appropriate clothing for the weather on the day. ( sun-cream and sun hat need to be worn). The children will also need to bring a packed lunch in a named lunch box including a non fizzy drink.

Morning children will be going on Thursday 10th July- NURSERY WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE AFTERNOON CHILDREN ON THIS DAY.

Afternoon children will be going on Friday 11th July- NURSERY WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE MORNING CHILDREN ON THIS DAY.

Please make sure your child is in on time  as we will be leaving promptly.

Nursery will be holding it’s sports day on Wednesday 25th June. All the children will be participating in lots of different events so will need to wear a P.E kit that day. If the weather is sunny the children will need to wear sun cream and a sun hat.

Nursery are learning about growing plants

This half term Nursery are learning about growing.

We have made a lovely garden centre in our role-play area for the children to explore and have a go at planting seeds. They have had lots of fun pretending to be gardeners, digging in the soil and sweeping up the mud!

We have looked at and planted lots of flowers in the garden. The children have also  talked about the different colours they are and how they all have unique shaped petals, the children then had a go at painting their own flowers.

The school is having a sunflower competition to see which class can grow the tallest sunflower, the children in Nursery have all helped to plant and care for our sunflowers and they are doing well.

This week we are looking at how and where vegetables grow. The children will have a opportunity to look and taste different vegetables. We are also going to grow some cress and use vegetables to print with.

The children will be learning how to recognize, count and write their numbers to ten this half-term.

The children will also be continuing to learn their sounds through the read, write inc.  programme.

If you would like to help your child in their learning in nursery please come and talk to one of the nursery staff.
