Hi Kangaroos! I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Joke of the day: What are the wettest animals in the world? Reindeer! (A thanks goes to Miss Lynch who has supplied me with some jokes just when I was running out!)

Spellings: This week, your spellings are words that are contracted forms.

Spelling rule: Contracted forms are short words made by putting two words together and omitting some letters, which are replaced by an apostrophe. For example: ‘did not’ is contracted to ‘didn’t’.

  1. hasn’t
  2. shouldn’t
  3. don’t
  4. can’t
  5. weren’t
  6. aren’t

Writing: Write each of the spellings in a sentence in your home learning book.

Example: wouldn’t

Unfortunately, she wouldn’t be able to attend the party tonight, even though she was desperate to!

Maths: To solve addition and subtraction word problems

Read the word problems carefully and answer the questions in your home learning books.
