Performance Poetry

We have been learning all about performance poetry and writing our own poems.

Today, poet Paul Cookson visited the school. He performed some fantastic poems with us and we began writing our own poem about the Stone Age with him. We then finished writing it as a whole class after.

Please read our fantastic poem! We are very proud of our amazing work.

Stone Age to Iron Age Trip

We all really enjoyed our trip to the Time and Tide museum to learn about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. We did activities about each of the different periods in history and learnt lots of new and interesting facts!

We even go to make our own Bronze Age brooches.

New Topic

This week, we started learning about the Stone Age to Iron Age as our topic. We found out that this was a Very Very long time ago and that they were three different periods of history that followed each other. We are looking forward to our Trip next week to learn more about the topic.

Extra maths sessions

All the children in Key Stage 2 have been working together on number bonds and times tables.  It has been great to see the children from different year groups working together so well.  Ask your child what they are learning this week and see if you can help them get quicker.

Earthquakes!

We learnt about earthquakes in Geography today and we had a go at making some earthquake proof structures. We then tested them out to see how strong they were. We all worked really hard in our groups and were very supportive of each others excellent efforts.
