English and Maths 21.4.20

This week, it is St George’s Day. I thought now would be a great time to learn all about St George, especially as we are St George’s School. The activities this week will be linked to St George in some way.

St George is the Patron Saint of England. We discussed on St Patrick’s Day what a Patron Saint is but click here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/17219261  if you need to remind yourself. There is also a page about St George, which you may find useful.

Read the information about St George:

Answer the reading comprehension questions, there are three slightly different sets of information; try to challenge yourself, don’t just do the easiest option.

This sheet has lots of addition and subtraction questions. You can either work them out mentally or using column method. If you are able to print sheets, you might want to print it off so you can colour it in, if not then just write the question and answer. st-georges-day-mental-calculations-maths-mosaic-activity-sheets You could also draw your own grid to colour in and create the picture. You have a choice of challenge again and what the picture should look like is included on an answer sheet.
