Good morning everyone!

Hello Nursery, did you enjoy yesterday’s activities? Have you been busy? Start the morning by clapping the syllables in your own name – How many syllables does your name have? How many claps did you do?

  1. Today’s first activity is a maths activity – This activity focusses on counting and quantity. Explore this online game with your child – Encouraging them not to skip count or miss any spots! You can tailor this activity to counting from 1-5 and 1-20 🙂

2. This next activity is a PSHE activity – These short videos explore various different emotions for children – After watching this video create a conversation with your child about feeling sad. When do they feel sad? What makes them feel sad? How can we make ourselves feel happy? Start today with the ‘sad’ video – Over time explore the other videos 🙂

3. The next activity is a physical development activity – This activity is similar to ‘Simon Says’ but includes physical activities and movements for your child to try! Have a go!

Simon Says

For this activity, an adult stands in front of the children and directs them into movements by first saying “Simon says.” If a child performs an action even when you haven’t said “Simon says,” let them know that Simon didn’t instruct them to and continue on. This allows every child to continue being involved in the activity while also testing their listening skills.

Here are a few movements you can instruct them to perform:

  • Hop
  • Clap
  • High knees
  • Arm circles
  • Jumping jacks
  • Lunges
  • Kick
  • March
  • Wiggle
  • Side shuffle
  • Skip
  • Stomp
  • Twirl
  • Touch toes
  • Fly like a bird
  • Stretch arms up high

Here is a great story to share with your child – This is a really new story book! 🙂

Enjoy! Speak tomorrow 🙂
