Good morning!

Good morning Nursery, how are you all today? Did you enjoy making movies yesterday? Can you start the morning by jumping, clapping, hopping or squatting to 20 – Making sure you count the right amount of moves! Once you have finished you’re ready to start today’s activities ๐Ÿ™‚

 

  1. Today’s first activity is a physical game to play – All you will need is paper and pens to start – Do this in your garden or the biggest room inside your house. This game teaches children about road and traffic safety but also gets them moving –

    Traffic Safety

    Cut three circles from coloured paper โ€“โ€“ one red, one yellow and one green. Label the red circle โ€œStop,โ€ the yellow circle โ€œSlowโ€ and the green circle โ€œGo.โ€ One child is chosen to be the traffic light, and they will hold up the green circle, the yellow circle and the red circle in turn.

    Your child is to move forward when โ€œGoโ€ is held up, slow down when โ€œSlowโ€ is held up and freeze when โ€œStopโ€ is held up. Take advantage of this fun activity to also teach children about traffic safety.

 

2. The next activity focusses on number writing formation – Wiggle your fingers, pinch your fingers and clap your hands ready to start. 3. This activity is a rhyming activity. We are going to learn the lyrics and actions to Five Little Speckled Frogs ๐Ÿ™‚

Five Little Speckled Frogs can be sung as a finger rhyme but there is no reason why you and your child canโ€™t be those 5 little frogs and jump off some sofas into the floor pond.

 Five little-speckled frogs,
Sat on a Speckled Log,
Eating some more delicious Grubs,
YUM YUM!
One jumped into the pool,
Where it was nice and cool,
Now there are four little speckled frogs!

Then repeat with four, three, two and one until you have zero frogs sitting on that log.

 

4. Here is another great story – Stop and start the story recapping the events and characters within the tale – What has happened so far? Who is this character? Do you like this story? What do you think is going to happen?
