Welcome back everyone!
We hope you have all had a lovely half term and had some much deserved rest!
Our new topic for this half term is Handa’s Surprise.
Here is a video of the story for you to watch with your families https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmMhq_sL6s8
Talk to your family about what you would like to learn and find out about the story. Have a go at drawing a mind map of your ideas. See below a template to give you an idea. The children can also draw what they could like to learn and have a go at forming the initial sound of each word. Also, we do not expect the children to be writing/drawing 7 different things things they would like to learn. We would be happy with two or three things. This can be an activity that you can come back to throughout the topic too.
When we return to Nursery after a holiday we recap on our counting and number recognition. So if you can practice counting 1-5,1-10,1-15,1-20 or 1-to more depending on how far you have been practicing with your families.
In the story Handa’s goes on a walk to see her friends. Where could you go on a walk with your family for part of your daily exercise?
How long can you balance on one leg for? Mrs and Pollard and I will time ourselves and let you know how long we can do it for.
We’re looking forward to seeing all you at zoom school today.
See you soon,
Miss Thrower & Mrs Pollard
