The children worked hard to produce a water colour painting of Sleeping Beauty’s castle. They drew their favourite characters from the story and added them to their painted setting.
We discussed the different gifts the Fairies gave to Sleeping Beauty and the children thought of their own gifts they would give if they were Fairies. They wrote these in speech bubbles trying really hard to sound out and write all of the sounds.
We used the internet to research what a spinning wheel is. We found out how the coat shaved from sheep is turned into wool using a spinning wheel and how this wool can then be used in knitting to make clothes. The children painted their own spinning wheel pictures and labeled them.
